Diabetics:

diabetic retinal exams are 100% covered by MSP with a one time referral from your GP or nurse practitioner

please have your family doctor or nurse practitioner email over a referral indicating the type of diabetes you have and medications you are currently taking (if any).

only a one time referral is needed for continuous care and monitoring of diabetic retinopathy

if you require an update on your eyeglass prescription, then a $75.00 fee applies.

Contact lens prescription updates are not part of the standard exam, additional fees apply depending on the type of contacts you wear (soft, hard, multifocal, toric, etc).

if you already have an ophthalmologist providing diabetic retinal exams and you just want a prescription update, then the regular refraction only exam fee of $115.00 is charged and any additional fees for a contact lens prescription update applies.
Those with Glaucoma, High Eye Pressure, Or Strong Family History of Glaucoma:

glaucoma exams are 100% covered by MSP with a one time referral from your GP or nurse practitioner

please have your family doctor or nurse practitioner email over a referral indicating you have glaucoma or they suspect glaucoma and the medications you are currently taking (if any).

our glaucoma exams also include prescribing glaucoma eye drops or prescribing refills if needed

Once we have received a referral from your GP or NP, then we will contact you to set up your appointment.
